Hello, and Welcome to the Counselor’s Corner! My name is Tonya Bates and I am the Counselor at Amite County Middle & High School. As a native of Amite County, with over 20 years of experience in education, I have a strong passion for educating and giving back to my community.
I plan to implement a guidance program that fosters individual student growth and achievement as well as promote and enhance the learning process of students. My goal as a counselor is simply that of the Mississippi School Counseling Model: "to enable the students I serve to achieve a measure of success in school and develop into contributing members of society." I want the students of Amite County to recognize their potential and work towards reaching it and achieving their goals.
